About

These are my memoirs.

I have more than 70 years to reminisce about.  (The picture at the top of the page was taken in 2008, when I was 68.)

A memoir is:

  • A recollection of scenes, events and/or people from a personal perspective.
  • “How one remembers one’s own life” (Gore Vidal).
  • Explores an event or series of related events that remain lodged in memory.
  • The writer’s contemplation of the meaning of these events in retrospect.

  2. Hi Shannon, Dennis here. I hope all is well and this message finds you happy and in good health. I haven’t received any of your emails lately and am sending you a note of concern.

    • Hi Dennis,

I had that horrible cold all December. Didn’t get out of bed. Then as I was starting to get better, just a couple of weeks into January, something else hit me. I’m not certain what it is, but my doctor has ruled out the obvious things. He thinks that it may be an autoimmune response, that my immune system got so revved up fighting the virus bug that it didn’t turn off after it won. If so, l’ll just have to let it slow down. I’m going to try yoga again–an easy class–when the new term starts at the beginning of March.

There are 7 photos sitting in the draft queue of Tumblr. They’ve been sitting there for over a week. I just have to write my blurbs and add the tags. My problem is getting enough energy to do this. When I do get up for a while, there always seems something more important to do.

I’m writing this on my iPad. I’m seldom on my computer and when I do power it up, there always seems to be a more important task on hand than completing my Tumblr blog. I’ll try to get to those 7 almost-completed posts soon, I promise.
